I had same problems with wordpressblog. Default themes always work. But custom themes can be a paaaain... Especially plug-ins can crash the platform. It has to do with unending string loops. I hope you get it fixed soon. Good luck!
Yeah, weird coding was because of PHP conflicts with server. Not at Mediatemple but I should be. Right now a rather cheap hosting solution which has served me well the past two years. The hickups I had lately are easily forgiven. Plus their online chat customer service is really fast and helpful.

Ahhh that explains!! I tried visiting a fe w times yesterday but everytime I got some weird code and random pageloads. Where are you hosted? Mediatemple?
