Sophie Toulouse has been around for a while. She is an artist who doesn’t seem to be bothered with the commercial aspect of her work in the first place. Although she’s worked for some major clients as Nike, her work can be found in art galleries and her own project called Nation Of Angela – a creative dream which I still can’t fully grasp the purpose of but intrigues me to the bone. There are few (if none) artists who inspire me this much and make me want to go create. Her art is the only one of its kind which seems to reach perfection. Here is some of her older work which is more accessible seeing her newer work tends to be a lot more abstract.
That wave crashing over the mountains’ rims would be enough to make this a great movie. Hopefully it doesn’t compare to The Day After Tomorrow. I’m not too keen on disaster movies. This one should be worth watching because of the amazing epic views. It reminds me of some of the Lord of the rings shots with the helicopter views above the mountains and the fellowship about to enter the land of Moria. I’m afraid 2012 won’t have wizards to save the world.
The internet is full of buzz (see here, here and here) around this upcoming movie. The trailer looks promising. The music and colors are mindblowing. I’ve been looking for the children’s book on which it based but can’t seem to find any in Europe. Apparently it exist mainly of drawings and very little text. The music in the trailer is Arcade Fire (edit: and not Wolf Parade as suggested earlier – i always confuse these band names with each other).
